Parru Fights Cancer
Parru Fights Cancer is an annual charity match held at Lappeenranta's Kisapuisto, open to everyone, with proceeds going to the Saimaa Cancer Society. The match has become a significant event for the entire Parru HT team, and a low-threshold way for spectators to support the Pink Ribbon campaign while enjoying first-class hockey!

Donation target
The proceeds from the match will be directed to the activities of the Saimaa Cancer Society. The activities of the Cancer Society include preventing cancer, promoting recovery from it, and providing important support to those affected and their loved ones.

Arrival at the match
The match is played annually at the Kisapuisto league ice rink (Kisakatu 9, 53200 Lappeenranta). Parru HT will arrange free bus rides for participants from LUT University to Kisapuisto via the city center. There is plenty of parking space at Kisapuisto, so you can also arrive at the match by car.
Match details
The games are part of the FCAA college series. The games are the length of a normal hockey game, 3 x 20 minutes. The game also has a halftime program, and food and drinks are available for purchase on site. Please note that the hall is a drinking area, meaning you may not bring your own alcoholic beverages to the event.
Parru Fights Cancer 2024
In 2024, Parru Fights Cancer attracted a record 1881 spectators to Kisapuisto in addition to players and organizers. Together, over 4000 euros were raised for the activities of the Saimaa Cancer Society, which is a great demonstration of how an event organized by students can produce good!
